How to create a message box in C web application

Share This :

After creating a page dimmer, it’s time to create the actual message box. The message box will consist of the title, message, and OK button. The inner message box structure needs to be placed in a div. So you can design the layout of the message box however you like. Once you have designed and coded the inner message box structure such as where the title, message, and OK button will appear, you need to place the code inside a div. This div needs to be centered on the screen and also fixed. It needs to be fixed so that if your page has scrollbars and the user scrolls down, then the message box should still appear in the same place, but the rest of the page content displayed behind the page dimmer div should scroll up or down.

The SetTitle() method simply sets the title of the message box. The SetIcon() method sets the icon to be used for the message box. It takes a string as an argument which is the file path of the image to be used as an icon. The SetMessage() method sets the message body of the message box. The SedivtOKButton() actually should not be a method but rather coded in as part of the message box, this is because every message box needs a button to close it. However in order to show the OK button on the attached sample, you need to call this method. You can remove it and code the OK button in directly. This method takes one argument, which is the CSS class to apply styling to the button. Next is the AddButton() method. This method is responsible for adding additional buttons to the message box, which when clicked will navigate to other pages.

Custom Message Box UI Design Tutorial in Windows Form , Displays a message window, also known as a dialog box, which presents a message to the user. It is a modal window, blocking other actions in the application  In this demo, I will be told you, how to create a custom message box that has gradient background color. For completing this demo I used visual studio 2010 as IDE and c# as programing language. In this demo, I had created two class frmShowMessage which display a message box and frmMain class which is used to test application.

A message box or dialog box is used to interact with the users of your application. The purpose of using a message box may include notifying about a particular action e.g. success message after entering a record. Similarly, an error message if an operation was unsuccessful. In both cases, you may display the “OK” button in the message box with the message.

It is now time to take a look at the scripting behind the OK button, which will be used to close the message box and remove the page dimmer. Before I present the JavaScript code, take a look at the code in listing 1.3 again. Take note, that both the page dimmer and the message box div have an ID attribute. This is very important, as we will be using JavaScript DOM to get the div reference so that we can turn the visibility of the page dimmer and the message box div on and off. Listing 1.4 below shows how to get a reference to the page dimmer and message box divs (the objects) by using the DOM getElementById() method.

Finally, rather than hard coding the structure of the message box code into the MessageBox class, I decided to create a template file, which consists of the page dimmer and message box HTML code along with inline CSS. The template file contains markers which are used to insert the title, icon, message body, and buttons. This approach of using a template allows you to design your own message box layout, giving it the appearance you want. All you have to do is make sure the markers are in the template.

C# MessageBox.Show Examples, MessageBox.Show also returns a DialogResult, which if you put some buttons on there, means you can have it returned what the user clicked. A message box is a prefabricated modal dialog box that displays a text message to a user. You show a message box by calling the static Show method of the MessageBox class. The text message that is displayed is the string argument that you pass to Show. Several overloads of the Show method also enables you to provide a title bar caption.

The message box (sap.m.MessageBox) is a special dialog that allows you to display messages to the user. Compared to the message popover (sap.m.MessagePopover), you can use the message box to display messages that are not related to a field on the UI, such as technical errors. Formulate messages in plain language (no code), describe the issue precisely, and suggest a constructive solution. Always help your user to recognize, diagnose, and recover from messages. Bear in mind that no message is always preferable to even a good message. When you design your apps, aim to prevent problems from occurring in the first place.

If you create a message box while a dialog box is present, use a handle to the dialog box as the hWnd parameter. The hWnd parameter should not identify a child window, such as a control in a dialog box.

Show Details button The message displayed for the user should provide sufficient information to ensure that the user knows what has happened. A message box without an explicit details section should be sufficient. Therefore, the Show Details link is only shown if detailed information is available that differs from the message text and is important for the user. If details are available, the application has three options to display the text. Text can be displayed as: Plain Formatted The original code format Message details – Plain textMessage details – Formatted textMessage details with code excerpt
