What team are you on and what is your role/job title?

I am one of our employee experience advocates on the people team.

How does your team/role contribute to the success of DealerOn?

So my main function is to ensure that everybody is having the best experience we can provide, whether it’s helping with something small, like our Paylocity website to something larger, such as an employee experiencing some personal issues. I definitely support the team, whether it’s a project we’re working on, or recruiting with onboarding and getting new team members into the systems. I wear a lot of different hats. But no matter what, the main thing is just making sure we’re keeping everyone as happy as possible.

What do you think makes DealerOn different and sets us apart from other players in the space?

Right from my first day, it was clear that at DealerOn everyone is just so genuine and so friendly. Normally, I’m one of those introverted extroverts who can get really shy, so it’s sometimes a little hard for me to open up right away. But from the first day I joined, I felt so included and welcomed. And I’m so grateful for that feeling. I tried to pass it on to like everyone else, because it’s just so nice to go somewhere and just already feel as you’re part of a team.

What do you like most about working at DealerOn?

It’s a tie. First is the amazing team I’m on. I know, a lot of people don’t get to spend as much time with some of the members on our team, but everyone in there is just so so nice. And they’re so caring, and they’re so supportive, like, no matter what’s going on, they’re always ready to drop what they’re doing and help out or at least be like, “Oh, hey, that does sound really hard. Like, what can we do to help?” It’s so nice to be part of such a supportive team.

Second, I love getting to know everybody here. Every time I’ve talked to somebody I learned something amazing or new. I love how, at least once a day, I get to have some kind of positive wonderful conversation with somebody.

What is a fun fact about you that people don’t know?

This was really hard to think about, because I’m usually pretty much an open book. But I would say one thing that most people don’t know about me is I actually have an award named after me at my high school, for being an outstanding member of the drama department. I also have a second award in relation to drama. It was a director’s award given to me in high school for excellence in theater.

I did drama, as well as academic writing club. Honestly, I was in a lot of different things. But it was so much fun. Everyone on my high school was pretty nice. And it was just so easy to be like I’m doing this and that and whatever else I can pick up.

“…my goal is to always be like [my sister], just always living and appreciating every day.”

What motivates you?

As cheesy as it sounds, I just want to help people. A lot of time in life, you’re going to hear people say, “Oh, life’s unfair.” And every time I hear that, or hear people acting like that my immediate reaction is that I’m going to do everything I can to make it more fair. So even if I can’t solve a problem, I’m going to do at least try my best. And if I if at the end, I still can’t help them at least I try to make the situation feel a little better.

What are you passionate about?

Animals and writing. Ever since I was a young kid, I’ve been obsessed with animals and I’ve been obsessed with writing. I’m pretty much like everything I did in school is like some kind of focus of one of the two combinations. There’s not a day that goes by where I’m not thinking about one or the other.

Who inspires you from present day?

I would say my sister. Anyone who gets really close to me knows my sister is very, very important to me. She is one of the greatest people I will ever know. She had a really hard time and despite all of that, she still remains positive. She works hard and believes in doing the best she can. And she just made such a positive impact on my life. Every day, she’s just just flourishes and is amazing. So my goal is to always be like her, just always living and appreciating every day.

If you could meet anyone from history who would it be?

So I’m a history dork. And I’m going to be a little disappointed in myself, because I should come up with something different but deep down, I’d want to meet Robin Williams. He is my hero. I have loved him since I was a small kid. He’s just such an inspiration. And I would die happy if I got a chance to resurrect him and just got to meet him for five minutes.

What’s your favorite Robin Williams movie?

Oh, gosh, that’s such a hard one. The one that makes me laughs the most is Mrs. Doubtfire. But I also really appreciate The Birdcage with Nathan Lane. Him and Nathan Lane as a couple is like the greatest thing ever. And it just it just hits my funny bone. I’m constantly laughing no matter how many times I’ve seen that movie. But I even love his like random stuff like like What Dreams May Come. Even the ones that people don’t like I still love.

Do you have any serious hobbies or interests outside of work?

So I enjoy writing. I haven’t had as much time for it lately, but I really love that. Along with reading and playing video games. Love catching up on movies, especially horror movies. I really like creative writing. I used to enter a lot of contests and stuff like in high school and college and stuff. I prefer doing fantasy or just general fiction. As a kid I used to do short horror story stuff.

Do you have any unusual phobias?

No, I’m kind of boring. It’s spiders and needles. I get so faint near a needle, and I’m terrified of spiders, but I still unfortunately in life have to power through them.

And if you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Talking to animals 100% I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been like I just want to talk to you. Just to figure out what’s going on. My life before DealerOn was working with animals. Just to be able to talk to him and be like, “Hey, can you what’s going on you having a bad day? Do you not like this person? I’ll get you out of here. Just say so.”
