As the basketball tournament kicks off in earnest today, there’s another bit of bracket madness going down among law students. NOCAP Sports, a name, image, likeness rights company, is sponsoring a moot court tournament to address the Supreme Court’s upcoming NCAA v. Alston argument.
The tournament features teams from Harvard, UCLA, Notre Dame, Marquette, Texas Southern Thurgood Marshall, Arizona State, Baylor, and UC Berkeley battling it out. The judging for the tournament will include high-profile attorneys, law professors, athletes who became lawyers, and representatives of other college sports-related organizations.
Honestly, this is such a clever way to spotlight an important case during the parties’ biggest event of the year. Good luck, everybody.
Hopefully NOCAP puts together a remarkably cheesy One Shining Moment recapping the tournament.
